Bride

Akiko was born in Japan, moving around with her family before settling in Nagoya. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and playing the bassoon in the school orchestra. She moved to Oregon to attend university, where she studied psychology and continued to play the bassoon. The Pacific Northwest sparked her affection for the great outdoors. In 2005 she moved to New York City to pursue a doctorate in cognitive neuroscience. She currently works as a researcher at a university in Baltimore. When not in the lab, Akiko likes to stay fit by running regularly and practicing yoga.

Groom

Richie grew up in North Carolina, first in Asheboro, then in Raleigh during high school. Music and computers have always been a part of his life. He went to college in Greensboro for music, then moved back and forth between Greensboro and Raleigh working in both the technology and music industries. In 2006 he moved to New York City, where he currently works as a Systems Engineer for a popular Internet company. Keeping his musical side going, he also plays classical trumpet and conducts orchestras in the New York City area.

The Couple

Richie and Akiko both enjoy the fine dining available in New York City, although Richie isn't quite as adventurous. They find common ground on fine Italian, Thai, and Indian cuisine, as well as the occasional Irish Pub. They both also have similar tastes in classical music, enjoying the large orchestral works of composers such as Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Mahler, and Stravinsky. Both being scientifically minded, they enjoy visiting the American Museum of Natural History and watching science programs such as Nova.

新婦

亜樹子は日本で生まれて、家族との何度かの引越しのあと、名古屋で暮らしました。日本では合唱、ピアノ、学校のオーケストラでのファゴットなどを楽しみました。大学進学のためにオレゴンに移り、心理学の勉強の傍らファゴットも続けました。パシフィックノースウェストではアウトドアにも目覚めました。２００５年にはニューヨークに移り、認知神経科学の博士課程に進みました。現在はバルティモアの大学で研究員として働いています。研究室にいない時は、亜樹子はランニングやヨガでアクティブに過ごす事が大好きです。

新郎

リッチーはノースキャロライナ州で生まれ、アシュボロに住んだ後、高校の時にラリーに移りました。音楽とコンピューターがいつも欠かせないものでした。グリーンズボロの大学で音楽を学び、その後グリーンズボロとラリーを行き来しながらテクノロジーと音楽の仕事をしました。２００６年にはニューヨークに移り、今は大手のインターネット関連の会社でコンピューターエンジニアとして働いています。同時に、ニューヨーク市内のオーケストラでのトランペットの演奏や指揮者としての活動を通じて音楽方面でも活躍しています。

カップル

リッチーと亜樹子は二人ともニューヨークのグルメが大好きです。かといってリッチーは亜樹子ほの冒険心はありませんが。共通なのは美味しいイタリアン、タイ、インド料理。アイリッシュパブにもよく行きます。二人はクラシック音楽にかけても同じ好みがあり、チャイコフスキー、ラフマニノフ、マーラー、ストラビンスキーといった大編成のオーケストラをよく聴きます。そして科学が好きということも共通していて、アメリカ自然史博物館に行ったり、ノバというサイエンス番組を二人で見たりもします。
